the masthead of this magazine is very small to the left corner. this is used as it saves space and perfectly illustrates the visual heirarchy as it is the first thing you see. it is in capital letters, bold, blood red and it is unusually over the top of the picture to stand out as much as possible.
the sub-title is at the top above the masthead to show that it is a special edition of the magazine and has a rainbow background to the text which is followed all along the border of the magazine to link it all together. the main sub-heading is white on a black background to stand out as it links in with the special edition and what the magazine is about. all of the article headings are in yellow which helps them to stand out but still link into the colour scheme as they are all the same colour.
the main picture is of the late syd barret of pink floyd. all of the writing surrounding him is on top of him to represent being buried (dead), but he is the only picture on the cover to show the importance of him. the picture is very serious and his eyes are looking directly out at the reader so it entises you in.
